Welcome to Spanish! To better understand how we "do business" in this class please start by reading the Walk Around Classroom Procedures Tour. This document is designed as a physical tour of the classroom to familiarize students with the available resources to help them survive as well as highlight the most important students expectations to succeed in Spanish. This document is split up by numbers and contains ALL THE ANSWERS to the student syllabus quiz...entonces... Hay que tomar apuntes :)

Spanish I Assessment Break-down...what makes up your grade in Spanish??
Spanish I Syllabus If you want to read it...here it is.
Spanish II Assessment Break-down...what makes up your grade in Spanish??
Spanish II Syllabus : Please note this document is a work in progress and students will have the opportunity to propose ammendments at the beginning of the year.
Here is a copy of the student syllabus quiz...use the walk-around to find the answers and make sure you are prepared for the quiz. All students will get a 0% or a 100% and will revise their answers until they get a perfect 100%. This quiz a great way to start your semester off with an "A". This is instead of wasting the paper to print syllabi that you don't read and then sign and return without really knowing the expectations for the class. This means that no student can say...."I didn't know if I had my phone out during a quiz...or talked after a quiz I'd get a zero!?!"
If you prefer to prepare for the student syllabus quiz by watching Ms. Ruddock's Classroom Tour YOUTUBE VIDEOS instead of reading the walk-around procedures, see the following links: *OJO** Work in progress as we incorporate student feedback from semester uno por favor.
Bienvenido PARENTS y GUARDIANS,
The Parent Welcome Letter is an abbreviated version of the Student Guide and Syllabus. It highlights the main resources, support and student expectations for the class. I hope this will be beneficial to you in your conversations with your student about their language learning. I will do my best to maintain a clear, communicative and supportive progress report sent via Skyward at least bi-weekly. I appreciate your support in helping our students learn to advocate for themselves, utilize available opportunities to meet their needs and be accountable for their own learning. It is my pleasure to share my love for the Spanish language and culture with your students! Thank you. Gracias. Merci. Danka.

Progress Reports will be sent to both students and parents every 7-10 days on average. The intention is to open communication between all the parties invested in your student's education. I also want to make sure that I haven't made data entry errors. I try to send the report home on Fridays so that students have the weekend to catch-up on missing assignments.
Expectations:
Ruddock’s -I will be accountable for possible data entry errors. 120+ papers a day-it's going to happen. When it does, please put a sticky note on the signed assignment and place in the late/makeup work and I will correct in Skyward ASAP. This is why students keep their work...it's your insurance!
Students you will be accountable to...
—know where your at (grade and progress towards our learning goal...to communicate and use your words the best you can!!!)
-know what missing assignments/assessments or comprehension quiz retakes you can do if you choose to grow
-check for errors and if you find one, advocate for yourself to get it corrected!
In order to create a safe, productive and enjoyable work environment WE as member of this learning community will...
-welcome all....don’t have to agree-must respect ✊
-work to listen for new ways to think and learn
