  3. Abren CP 6... Open CP 6 and take out a correcting pen por favor!
  4. Entregan los proyectos de SER a la mesa blanca. Turn in your ser projects to the white table. 👀 OJO 👁 POR FAVOR write your chromebook NÚMEROS Muy GRANDE next to your nombre en Español and your real last name (apellido) on the TOP of the rubric so I know who to give credit to in Skyward. Gracias. 😊

Students will be able to explain HOW to conjugate the verb ser AND list the uses of the verb ser working to give examples of each use and how it applies to them as individuals.

  2. Choose a colored piece of paper and copy the rubric on the side board on the back. (See below under the rubric) This is the homework and will be ​DUE WEDNESDAY
  3. Take out your Mi Vida and open it to the writing web for leccion uno tab. 
  4. ANUNCIOS: Arts and Culture Night at Cheney High School 4:30-6:30 PM    AP Students will be setting up stations for students, families and friends alike to decorate calaveras, make their own papel picado, learn about Frida Kahlo and the Day of the Dead as well as see a Day of the Dead Altar Created by 4th and 5th Year AP Students
    1. The Europe Travel Group will also have a table with information for future trips, this trip and be selling custom designed pins to fundraise.

      • ​Use the green adjectives in the front of your MiVida to help you, you can also use page 89 of your book
      • Write the adjectives that apply to use as a human in the boxes provided on the green sheet in the front of your Mi Vida
  • PRACTICA ORAL: CHALLENGE....can you speak ONLY IN SPANISH for 3 minutes if you are able to change partners??

  2. Turn in late and makeup work a las carpetas...to the folders
  3. Open your Mi Vidas to the lección uno tab in the back tabs with the essential questions for chapter one.
  4. Get at least 3 colores diferentes de las plumas brillantes to begin creating your first writing web....a resource your can use on the in-class write assessment coming up at the end of the chapter. 

Hoy en la clase.....
Students will practice what they know so far about their identity in Spanish to CONVERSE in the target language for at least 3 minutes with at least 3 different classmates.

  • Empieza la red de escritura....start the writing web for our first in-class write

    • Students will get to use their Mi Vida's and writing webs on the in-class writing assessment

    1. Take out a pen in order to correct packet pg 12. 
  4. Write down the homework for tonight in your planner....bottom section of packet page 15. 
  5. Check in with students....How did it go with the substitute yesterday? Were students respectful? Productive? Were the hints helpful or even used? How did the quiz go? What did students do to prepare?
  6. Spanish names???

  • ​Corrigen las pruebitas....review and correct parts of the quiz
  • Corrigen las pruebitas de las páginas 1-6...Spend some time CON (with) your resources to correct all the quizzes and extra credit for pages 1-6 in your quiz packet.
    • Do you have a pretty pen to do the corrections?
    • Do you know how to correct the cierto/falso and the multiple choice?
    • What resources do you have to help you?
    • Next, please rate yourself in the first column of your learning target sheet thus far for learning targets from contextos (vocabulario) 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3.
      • This will help Profe to know what we need to practice more...and more importantly your feedback in the start stop continue column will tell Profe HOW you need to practice.

  1. ​Firman la lista...SIGN IN...NO BATHROOM BREAKS TODAY...GO BEFORE CLASS!
    1. ​Sit in your CHROMEBOOK SEATS por favor. 
  2. Turn in your homework to the folder (Packet pages 13 & 14...15 points Must have both complete to get credit....this is what we worked on during class Tuesday)
  3. Clear EVERYTHING off your desk but a pencil. 
  4. Move all desks away from eachother for the quiz...only ONE person on the couch. 
  5. If the substitute sees a Cell phone or hears ANY talking 0% and F on the quiz student calls home. 
  6. Consequence for the cell phone during class doubles with a substitute...200 sentences and substitute will write down your name for Profe. 

Hoy en la clase......
Students will demonstrate their knowledge on sections 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 on the MidChapter Quiz. 

  • Toman la pruebita....MID CHAPTER QUIZ Complete ALLL of pages six and seven. Profe Ruddock wrote hints for each section of the quiz below. Either had out packets and have one student read directions for each sectio nto the class....or project and hope people decide to read. Either way get started right away...no extra time will be given to complete the quiz! If you were absent Tuesday, you have one extra day for the hw but will take the quiz with everyone else. 
    • Section 1: Write the numbers that are missing in Spanish....for #5 you must list 3 of the 4 numbers under 30 that have an accent. 
    • Section 2: Sing your question word song and write out ONLY the question word WITH THE ACCENT in the blank
    • Section 3: First fill in the boxes with the four definite (definite) articles meaning THE. THEN, write three places that you know in Spanish under Lugares...do not write down countries Mexico España....think of the words for country, city, community, school, house....etc. Then write three people you know with the definite article and three objects or cosas that you know how to say with the definite article. 
    • Section 5 (No section 4): First fill in the boxes with the four UNdefinite (indefinite) articles meaning A, AN or SOME when plural.          THEN, write the correct vocabulary word that each clue is describing with the correct indefinite article
      • ​group of travelers: some tourists
      • boys who operate a car: some drivers
      • 24 hours, 7 in a week: a day
      • To write notes in class: a pencil
      • Packing before a trip: some suitcases
      • Girls who study: some female students
    • Section 6: Write the six forms of the infinitive ser that go with each of the personal pronouns...think of our chant with our arms. 
    • Section 7: Give it a TRY...these wont count against you!
    • Section 8: Write the personal pronouns....these are not the forms of ser: soy eres es somos sois son. Personal pronouns take the place of a person....Think of our song....yo is I tú is you.....
    • Section 9: Label the central american countries...notice Mexico is not on the map so start with Grandpa: Guatemala... Eats: Ecuador and label the countries directly on the map ORRRR number the countries on the map and write the names in the blanks. 
    • 4 Contestar​: These are the same questions from the entry task yesterday....answer them in complete sentences por favor. 
  • Eligen los nombres en español...Students must choose a name from the blue or pink cards...only one per class. When you finish your quiz....
    • Choose the pronoun that best represents you...él for he or ella for she
    • If you want a male gendered name choose off the blue list and female pink list...sorry for the very gender stereotyped colors for the lists
    • Choose your name in Spanish and tell it to the substitute to write on the seating chart...first come first serve no doubles...can't have five students choose Jose in the same class.

NEXT....Sacan CP 5 ....get out your CP 5 and a correcting pen.

Students will practice and recite each of the ten forms of the infinitive ser: to be. 

  • Sacan un papel....get a piece of paper from the podium and split in two to share with a partner then number it 1-10 for a mini-ser quiz. 
  • Toman la pruebita...take the mini quiz on the conjugations of ser
    • Take and correct the mini quiz on ser...10 points

Los Deberes La Tarea

Finish the bottom of packet page 12....so the whole page will be done. For each number....BEFORE YOU TRANSLATE...start by underlining the subject and deciding which personal pronoun to use and write it in the margin to the left. Then each number will also have a form of the verb ser....soy eres es...somos sois or son. Ask yourself singular or plural to narrow your options by 50%!

  3. Sacan una pizarrita y un marcador. ​Take out a whiteboard and a marker
  4. Find a partner and get 6 pieces of green paper off the white table. Sit with your partner. 
  5. Have your Mi Vidas open to the ser tab. 

Hoy en la clase....
Students will define the conjugations of the infinitive ser and the personal pronouns. 

  • Comparar los pronombres personales y ser con las pizarritas
    • I versus I am......She is versus she etc
  • Practican el verbo ser
    • Orally with arm movements
    • With a partner patty cake style
    • On the whiteboards with a partner.
